Coordinate and manage daily operation of testing center including supervision of testing staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Maintain all certifications/ training required by test vendors, supervisor or college/district, state, or federal policy. Ensure that all staff is certified to administer all tests offered at test center.
Work with ADA counselors to provide appropriate testing accommodations to students.
Administer various assessment/certification tests for the college (TSIA/TSIA2, ACCUPLACER ESL, ACCUPLACER Advanced Algebra and Function, TABE, CLEP, Fire Fighter/Marshal Credentialing, GED, HESI, TCEQ, etc.).
Develop, recommend, and administer policies, procedures, and processes related to orientation, assessment, and student placement in support of instructional programs; implements and monitors compliance with approved policies, procedures, and processes.
Ensure compliance with applicable local, state, national standards and professional organizations (NCTA).
Deliver a high level of customer support for the Testing Center and provide ongoing Testing Center demand analysis, facilities and equipment assessments, and equipment and software upgrade recommendations to Computer Services to ensure that Testing Center configurations remain up-to-date and in compliance with exam requirements.
Coordinate with ability services to provide accommodated proctoring for departmental exams.
Customize and/or modify intake program processes and procedures in an effort to provide better service to the community, populations being served, in meeting program goals, and in responding to college-wide changes that impact academic departments.
Coordinate with P16 Directors and area high school designee for scheduling of placement testing for Dual Credit enrollment.
Serve as a liaison with other departments within the College, the community, and external agencies in order to provide information on available resources, programs, and/or services.
Ensure information about testing and testing software is communicated and understood by users of the Testing Center.
Retrieve and of post TSIA/ACCUPLACER test scores from ACCUPLACER platform.
Interview, hire, train and terminate staff; input and approve time and labor. If applicable, complete the Performance Evaluation Document (PEP) if supervising full-time staff.
Monitor and maintain a system that will ensure security of tests and testing materials at the assigned sites; report any lost, stolen, misplaced, damaged, or otherwise compromised test materials to the District Testing Office.
Participate in/on a variety of meetings, committees, task forces, and/or other related groups to communicate information regarding services, programs, areas of opportunity, and/or other pertinent information as appropriate.
May work off-hours, including nights and weekends.
Perform other duties, tasks and assignments as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
- Bachelors degree in Education or a related field required
- 3 years testing experience in a post secondary institution required
- Bilingual preferred
Licensing & Certification
- Valid Texas Driver License
- Eligible for GED Testing Certification by the State of Texas
- GED Examiner Certification
- HESI
- TABE
- applicants without current certification will be considered provided they agree to obtain the certification, as a condition of employment, within 6 months after employment.

Working Conditions
General office. May frequently be required to walk; stand; sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision. Use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer, photocopier, file cabinets, and calculator. Manual dexterity, ability to lift up to 25 pounds, ability to reach and bend, and use 2-step stool while safely lifting and lowering boxes. Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business-related events. May be required to work after hours to include weekends and holidays.
