Title III Director
Responsibilities
Johnson C. Smith University invites applications for the position of Title III Director—a collaborative, strategic leader who will help strengthen and advance key institutional priorities through effective stewardship of Title III grant-funded initiatives.
Under the general direction of the Director of Government-Sponsored Programs and Research, the Title III Director provides strategic leadership, program administration, and fiscal oversight of all Title III-funded activities. This role ensures full compliance with U.S. Department of Education regulations, alignment with institutional goals, and clear documentation of measurable outcomes.
The Title III Director leads the planning, coordination, execution, and evaluation of Title III grant programs; supervises the Program and Procurement Coordinator; and provides oversight, guidance, and support to Activity Directors. The Director works closely with senior leadership, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders to achieve project goals and maintain compliance with all federal, state, and institutional policies.
Note: This is a 100% grant-funded position.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred in education administration, business, public administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in federal grants management, higher education administration, compliance, or related field; experience with Title III preferred. A combination of education and experience may substitute for the required education.
- Experience supervising staff and coordinating multi-area project teams.
- Demonstrated knowledge of federal grant regulations, including uniform guidance, compliance monitoring, procurement protocols, and reporting requirements.
- Experience working with budget management and financial tracking systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including experience preparing formal reports and documentation.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related data-tracking platforms.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and organizational skills.
- Computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office Suite and the Internet are required.
