"TRP Field Experience Supervisor"

Job Summary

The TRP Field Experience Supervisor will support special education teacher candidates in the Milwaukee Public Schools and UW-Madison Special Education Teacher Residency Program (TRP) in their residency placements. The supervisor will provide coaching, ongoing support, and mentorship for teacher candidates and work collaboratively with the TRP Program Manager and mentor teachers to support teacher candidates for success. The supervisor will exercise problem-solving and independent judgment to provide comprehensive support for teacher candidates in all aspects of their school-based residency experience. This supervisor role provides support to graduate students in the UW-Madison Special Education Teacher Residency Program, a collaborative initiative between UW-Madison and Milwaukee Public Schools.

Note:

• This position is based out of Milwaukee, WI.
• This position is expected to work between 15-75% depending on availability, department need, and budget.

Key Job Responsibilities

• May supervise the day to day activities of one or more academic programs and resolves issues exercising discretion to meet unit goals.
• Utilizes independent judgement regarding development, implementation, promotion, and evaluation for one or more academic programs, initiatives, or events
• Identifies program, needs, contributes to the development of unit workflows, schedules logistics and secures resources for meetings, events, and interviews
• Coordinates program components and evaluates program effectiveness and provides recommendations for improvement

Compensation

Minimum: $45,000.00
Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years teaching in a classroom setting (K-12) with special education students
• Current teaching license in K-12 special education required

Preferred Qualifications

• Ten (10) or more years and experience with teacher leadership and/or coaching is preferred
• Master’s degree in special education, social work, or a related field preferred

Education

Bachelor’s degree Required in special education, social work, or a related field
