General Schedule
This position is up to 10 hours a week between 9am - 4pm Monday - Wednesday

Position Overview
Upward Bound Math Science Instructors are responsible for providing in-person instruction to college-bound high school students in specific topics/content areas during the on-campus six-week summer session (M-W June 1 - July 16, 2026). Currently seeking instructors for the following subjects: Foreign Language, Math, Science, Composition, English Literature, and Reading. The instructor will develop curriculum materials and implement a course of instruction in the specialty area which provides students with the opportunity to enhance their academic skills necessary to successfully complete high school, matriculate through a post-secondary institution and graduate. Orientation will be June 1 & June 2 with the University and the UBMS program.
Department Specific Essential Job Functions
Prepare a syllabus, curriculum, activities/assignments, and assessments for subject areas. Prepare for and meet classes as assigned and maintain a safe learning environment. Participate in-service training sessions as scheduled. Evaluate and prepare reports of ongoing student progress. Complete student assessment forms. Request and assist in maintaining department equipment, supplies, and materials. Adhere to established safety and health procedures and practices to provide injury and illness prevention for self and others. Participate in the end-of-program achievement awards reception. Assume other duties as requested by the supervisor.
