UC Davis Assistant/Associate/Full Professor - Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon
The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at UC Davis School of Medicine is recruiting for a highly qualified accredited orthopaedic spine fellowship-trained surgeon to complement its already comprehensive spine program. The position will serve in the Faculty Senate Clinical-X series or Health Sciences Clinical Professor series at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor rank to commensurate with experience and qualifications.
The UC Davis Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is the premier surgical service provider in the greater Sacramento region and beyond and is based on the UC Davis Health campus in Sacramento, CA. Sacramento is an easily accessible, family-oriented city in close proximity to the San Francisco Bay area, and Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
EXPECTATIONS
This position will provide inpatient and outpatient spine clinical care for the UC Davis Health Spine Clinic, with the potential to collaborate with Shriners Hospital for Children Northern California. Faculty in the Clinical X series are expected to engage in professional competence and activity, teaching, research and creative work, and University/public service. This position will also include the teaching and supervision of fellows, residents, and medical students, as well as participate in departmental meetings, conferences, hospital, and departmental committees. This position will participate in evening/weekend/holiday call for our UC Davis Health Hospital System.
This recruitment is conducted at the Assistant, Associate or Full rank. The salary range for this position is $558,782 - $920,714. This position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan. With additional opportunities for year-end incentive pay.
BASIC QUALIFICATION
The candidate must possess an M.D. (or equivalent degree), have completed an approved Orthopaedic Surgery residency program, be board certified or eligible in Orthopaedic Surgery and be a fellowship-trained in Orthopaedic Spine Surgery. The candidate must be eligible for licensure in the State of California and/or have an active California medical license prior to appointment start date. Candidates must have the ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment and adhere to University policy and procedures. Candidates in the Clinical X series must demonstrate the ability and experience to conduct scholarly/clinical/translational research and must provide evidence of experience obtaining extramural funding and/or administering clinical trials. Demonstrated teaching experience in an academic clinical setting is preferred.
