"Undergraduate Academic Advisor 2 (Newark)"

The Ohio State University invites applications for the position of Academic Advisor 2 at the Newark campus. Additional responsibilities include participating in orientation and recruitment activities to support undergraduate program engagement and enrollment. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to student development and a collaborative approach to student support services.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Preferred minimum years of relevant experience: 1-2
• Capable of conveying complex ideas in a way that is tailored to the needs of students. Able to explain program requirements to diverse audiences, including students, parents, faculty, and partner units. Demonstrates fundamental communication skills and basic knowledge of multiculturalism and inclusion. Proficient in performing basic transactions in the Student Information System (SIS). Possesses relational skills such as active listening and effective interviewing and questioning techniques.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 0 - 3 years of relevant experience
• Understands and follows FERPA Guidelines
• Able to perform basic transactions in the Student Information System (SIS)
