General description:
- scientific research work and professional work in research,
- professional cooperation with clients commissioning research tasks,
- preparation of written reports, studies and expert opinions,
- participation in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching,
- preparation of proposals for purchasing research equipment, maintenance of equipment and procurement of consumables,
- performing tasks within own field as instructed by the head of the organisational unit and other related duties within the broader professional scope of the position.
Detailed description:
- The postdoctoral researcher’s work will focus on Pilot Project 6: Heritage Values, Valuation, and Policies.
- Particular emphasis will be placed on understanding the diverse heritage values attributed to cultural heritage by local communities, public institutions, experts, economic actors, visitors, and other stakeholders, and on integrating these values into sustainable management models.
- The postdoctoral researcher will contribute to the substantive, conceptual, and methodological development of the pilot project, as well as to the establishment and operation of the Knowledge Co-Creation Laboratory, which will serve as the central platform for collaboration among researchers, policymakers, and other stakeholders.
- A key component of the research will involve the design and implementation of interdisciplinary, transdisciplinary, and participatory studies. This includes the use of qualitative and quantitative research methods such as interviews, focus groups, surveys, participatory workshops, co-creation processes, and other forms of field research.
- An important part of the role will involve the analysis of national, local, and European strategic documents, legislation, policies, and governance models in the fields of cultural heritage, spatial development, tourism, environment, and climate change.
- The researcher will actively contribute to the development of operational tools, methodological guidelines, and recommendations for sustainable heritage management, and to testing their applicability in pilot cases. Research results will be disseminated through scientific articles, professional publications, project reports, methodological handbooks, and policy recommendations, and presented at national and international scientific conferences, professional meetings, workshops, and round-table discussions.
- In addition to research activities, the researcher will prepare project proposals and carry out organizational, coordination, and professional tasks required within the GreenHer CoE. The researcher will facilitate collaboration between the CoE units and the Central Office and contribute regular work reports.
- The researcher will also perform other duties and responsibilities within the broader scope of the Centre’s activities, as assigned by the Head of the GreenHer CoE.

Requirements for the position:
- Required education: A doctoral degree (pre-Bologna system) or a PhD (third-cycle Bologna degree) in a relevant field, such as archaeology, heritage studies, art history, or other related humanities or social science disciplines.
- Required academic title (habilitation): A valid academic title of Research Assistant or Assistant. If the candidate does not yet hold a valid title, this requirement must be fulfilled within four months of the employment start date.
- Professional proficiency in Slovenian
- Professional proficiency in English
- Required experience: At least one year of relevant professional experience.
- Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate knowledge or experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Participatory, action-based, or community-engaged research.
- Research on cultural heritage and heritage values.
- Research work in interdisciplinary or transdisciplinary teams.
- Participation in national or international research projects.
- Preparation of scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals or other peer-reviewed publications.
- Preparation of research project proposals and funding applications.
- Experience or demonstrated research interest in one or more fields related to cultural heritage, governance, public policy, participation, sustainable development, or climate change.
- Ability to work in an interdisciplinary and international research environment.
