General description:
- scientific research work and professional work in research,
- professional cooperation with clients commissioning research tasks,
- preparation of written reports, studies and expert opinions,
- participation in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching,
- preparation of proposals for purchasing research equipment, maintenance of equipment and procurement of consumables,
- performing tasks within own field as instructed by the head of the organisational unit and other related duties within the broader professional scope of the position.
Detailed description:
The researcher will develop digital solutions for the research, documentation, and presentation of cultural heritage using advanced technologies such as 3D modeling, digital reconstruction, virtual and extended reality (VR/XR), and interactive visualizations. Their work will include the creation of three-dimensional models and digital reconstructions of historical objects, sites, spaces, and processes; the development of interactive content for research, educational, and presentation purposes; as well as the design and implementation of immersive projection environments.
In addition to development activities, the researcher will carry out research tasks, collect and analyze data, prepare scientific and professional publications, and participate in the preparation and implementation of national and international research projects. They will actively collaborate in interdisciplinary project teams and contribute to the dissemination of research results through exhibitions, presentations, workshops, and other forms of knowledge transfer to both professional and wider audiences.

Requirements for the position:
- Required education: A doctoral degree (pre-Bologna system) in a relevant field, or a PhD (third-cycle Bologna degree) in a relevant field, specifically in computer science, informatics, multimedia, digital media, architecture, urban planning, design, or another related interdisciplinary field.
- Required academic title (habilitation): A valid academic title of Research Assistant or Assistant. If the candidate does not yet hold a valid title, this requirement must be fulfilled within four months of the employment start date.
- Professional proficiency in English
- Communication and organizational skills.
- Required experience: At least one year of professional experience in the following areas:
- Advanced knowledge of 3D modeling and visualization.
- Experience in the development of Virtual Reality (VR) or Extended Reality (XR) content.
- Knowledge of digital reconstruction methods for objects and structures.
- Ability to work with interactive and immersive environments.
- Ability to conduct independent research and perform critical analysis.
- Preferred qualifications and experience:
- Experience with at least some of the following tools:
- 3D modeling and animation: Blender, Autodesk 3ds Max, Autodesk Maya.
- Visualization and rendering: V-Ray, Unreal Engine, or Unity (preferred).
- Projection systems and immersive visualization: MadMapper or similar tools.
- Digital content processing: Adobe Creative Suite or comparable software.
- Participation in cultural heritage projects.
- Experience in developing interactive or exhibition content.
- Knowledge of projection technologies and immersive environments.
- Experience working in interdisciplinary teams (technology and humanities).
- Participation in the preparation or implementation of research projects, including European-funded projects and ARIS-funded projects.
