The competition is open to each candidate who meets the requirements set out in the Higher Education and Science Act of July 20th 2018 (Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1571) and the Statute of University of Wroclaw.
Requirements
- Professor title in physical sciences or chemical sciences or materials engineering.
- Outstanding scientific achievements in the field of experimental solid state physics, documented by publications in international journals.
- Good working knowledge of English, both spoken and written.
- Proven competence in academic teaching in Polish language.
Additionally, the following are highly desirable:
- Experience in preparation and application of scientific grants.
- Scientific plans – in particular, developing new research topics in field of experimental nuclear physics or solid state physics.
- Documented long term research stays.
- Active participation in scientific conferences and other scientific events.
Responsibilities
In the research area: conducting scientific research, publishing results of the work in scientific journals, active participation in scientific conferences, applying for research grants and research internships, participating in the implementation of research grants, reviewing scientific papers
In the teaching area: conducting classes; supervising doctoral, master’s and bachelor’s theses in this area.
In the organizational area: working in university collegiate bodies, recruitment and examination committees during the recruitment process, organizing and participating in university promotional campaigns.

- self-report containing the characteristics of the current scientific and didactic achievements, as well as organizational and promoting science activities with information about mobility.
- List of the candidate's publications for a period not exceeding 10 years.
- Electronic versions of the two most important publications (or typescripts of unpublished works), representative of candidate’s scientific achievements.
- Two letters of recommendation - the letters are confidential and have to be e-mailed directly to the address: Pawel.Rudawy@uwr.edu.pl (and not transmitted to the candidate).
- Application for employment to the Rector of the University of Wrocław.
- Declaration – article 113 the Law on Higher Education and Science (download Declaration – Article 113).
