We are seeking a capable and adaptable solicitor or barrister to join the University’s Legal, Governance & Compliance team. This is a key role within a small specialist function, providing professional legal advice and support across a broad range of activities within a complex organisational environment.

You will advise on matters including commercial contracts, procurement, governance, data protection, research and collaboration agreements, student-related issues, and regulatory compliance. The role offers significant variety and the opportunity to develop expertise across multiple areas of law relevant to the Higher Education sector.

Working as part of a small team, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution, shape legal and governance processes, and support sound decision‑making across the institution. The role is challenging and fast‑paced, but also highly rewarding, offering strong potential for professional development and career progression.

We are seeking applicants who can demonstrate sound legal judgment, strong drafting and analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels. This full-time post is available immediately on an indefinite basis.
