About the Role

Swinburne University has an exciting opportunity for a passionate and engaging Casual VE Nursing qualified Teacher to join our Health, Community and Education department within the Vocational Education (VE) team.

As a Casual Individual Support Teacher, you will work collaboratively within a team of dedicated education professionals to deliver high-quality education and training programs. You will plan, deliver, assess and evaluate learning while ensuring compliance with relevant vocational education standards.

This role requires the ability to adapt and customise programs to meet the diverse needs of learners and clients in order to deliver the Certificate III Individual Support and Certificate III Health Services Assistance courses. You will draw on contemporary learning technologies, innovative pedagogies and industry best practice to support positive student outcomes.

About You

To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

• Demonstrated ability to implement high quality innovative teaching and learning programs in a variety of learning modes which respond to a diverse range of student and client needs.
• Demonstrated ability to participate effectively in continuous improvement, audit processes and the maintenance of high-quality training and assessment materials.
• Demonstrated ability to foster and promote an inclusive, customised and safe learning environment and provide support and advice to a diverse range of students and clients.
• Demonstrated awareness and understanding of Vocational Education and Training policies and frameworks.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122)
• OR
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116)
• OR
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110)
• OR
• Diploma or higher-level qualification in adult education.

A secondary teaching qualification which is a credential issued by a higher education provider (as defined in section 5 of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011) which would enable the individual to satisfy the academic requirements for registration as a secondary school teacher in accordance with the registration requirements in at least one State or Territory, and one of the following:

• TAESS00011 Assessor Skill Set or TAESS00019 Assessor Skill Set or its successor, OR
• TAESS00024 VET Delivered to School Students Teacher Enhancement Skill Set
• Division 1 Nursing Registration
• Relevant degree or vocational qualification in Nursing.
• AQF5 level (or above) qualification in Education is preferred.
