The Department of Classics at Washington & Lee University invites applications for a one-year visiting position at the rank of assistant professor.
The successful candidate must be able to teach Latin at all levels, as well as Classics courses that reach a broad audience of non-majors. A teaching load of 2-3-1 will include four Latin language courses at the elementary and intermediate levels (2 sections of first-semester elementary Latin using Wheelock's Latin; 2 sections of fourth-semester Latin reading Ovidian poetry) and two different Classics/Ancient Mediterranean culture courses. Our calendar consists of two 12-week terms and a 4-week May term where pedagogical innovation is encouraged and supported. Preference will be given to those candidates whose teaching and research complement current strengths of the department.

- Undergraduate Latin teaching experience at multiple levels.
