"Visiting Assistant Professor of Biology"

Haverford College invites applications for a full-time multi-year Visiting Assistant Professor of Biology to begin Fall 2026.

Haverford College anticipates the need to hire a full-time visiting assistant professor in the Department of Biology starting in the 2026-2027 academic year, with the possibility of renewal for an additional year upon successful review and continued departmental need. Responsibilities will include teaching five course credits over two semesters at first-year to senior levels, including at least one credit for team-taught, course-based research experience lab (CURE) in their area of expertise. Teaching credits include team-taught courses with associated mentorship, as well as independently taught new courses in the candidate's area of expertise. Candidates with expertise in cell biology, physiology, cancer biology, immunology, or biochemistry are particularly encouraged to apply; however, all disciplines of biology will be considered. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate a commitment to engaging students from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences and creating a welcoming classroom environment in a liberal arts context.

The position begins July 1, 2026 in preparation for the fall semester of 2026; instruction begins August 31, 2026. Research funding is available to help visiting faculty continue their scholarship at Haverford.

Candidates should have a Ph.D. in biology or related field.
