Visiting Assistant Professor of Kinesiology

The Department of Kinesiology in the Conway Medical Center College of Health and Human Performance at Coastal Carolina University invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, term-limited Visiting Assistant Professor position beginning in August 2026. It is a non-tenure-track, on-campus role that requires regular campus presence and active engagement with students and colleagues. We seek candidates who are committed to creating meaningful learning experiences that promote student success and who bring a strong expertise in sport and exercise psychology, sport behavior, and/or motor behavior and motor learning.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging academic experiences that promote student success.
• Teach four courses in both the fall and spring semesters (4/4 load). These courses could include EXSS 340 (Exercise and Sport Behavior), EXSS 360 (Motor Behavior), and EXSS 360L (Motor Behavior Laboratory), with the potential to teach other courses based on departmental needs and candidates’ expertise.
• Contribute to the curriculum through effective teaching practices, active learning, and meaningful student engagement.
• Creating and/or facilitating assigned courses, developing course syllabi and instructional materials, maintaining instructional records, and posting and holding office hours.
• Other duties which support the mission and initiatives of the University.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Doctorate in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a closely related field by the time of appointment (ABD candidates will be considered).
• Demonstrated ability or potential to teach effectively in both classroom and laboratory settings.
• Commitment to student-centered teaching and active learning.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated expertise in sport and exercise psychology, sport behavior, and/or motor behavior and motor learning.
• Prior experience teaching exercise and sport behavior or motor behavior.
