Visiting Assistant Professor of Sociology
The Sociology department at Davidson College invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor starting July 1, 2026. Substantive area is Urban Sociology, broadly defined. Ability to teach core courses in Sociology, including statistics, theory, and methods, is strongly preferred. The successful candidate will teach five courses (two Fall, three Spring). Potential contributions to Davidson College's interdisciplinary programs (including Africana Studies, East Asian Studies, Environmental Studies, Gender and Sexuality Studies, Latin American Studies, Middle East Studies, and South Asian Studies) will be viewed favorably. Candidates are expected to be highly committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching. Experience teaching undergraduates is required. Ph.D. in Sociology should be in hand by June 30, 2026.
