"Visiting Instructor of Managerial Finance (Part-Time - 1 Course)"

Gustavus Adolphus College invites applications for a part-time, one-semester Visiting Instructor position in the Department of Business and Economics, starting January 1, 2026. Employment Type: Part-Time; Exempt (Salaried); $4,900 per 4-credit course (potential signing bonus for qualified applicants); In-Person Instruction

Position Overview:

• Teach one section of Managerial Finance during the spring semester: This course is required for our Financial Economics and Accounting majors. This is a 300-level course with junior and senior students.
• Time Commitment: This is a part-time, in-person position for the spring semester, which ends on May 1, 2026. Course could be taught on M-W-F or T-Th.
• Responsibilities: The course covers key financial topics such as financing business enterprises, working capital, cash flow, capital budgeting, and monetary and capital markets. You will guide students as they develop a business plan and analyze its feasibility. The class heavily emphasizes problem-solving in small groups, so you can draw on your practical experience to make the concepts come to life. The materials are available if preferred.

Prerequisites:

What We're Looking For:

• A graduate degree (MBA, MAcc, MBT, or equivalent) is preferred, but we will strongly consider candidates with significant professional experience in finance, banking, venture capital, or academic research in finance.
• A strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and a passion for working with students.
• Experience with innovative teaching strategies is a plus.
• Experience in working in public accounting.
