Visiting Instructor Physics (OPS)
The Department of Physics at the Florida Polytechnic University is seeking applicants for the rank of Visiting Instructor.
Visiting Instructors candidates should possess a commitment to teaching physics that supports undergraduates primarily in introductory physics courses.
The Physics Department at Florida Polytechnic University offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Physics, that began in the fall of 2019 and a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics beginning in fall 2025.
This position will primarily focus on Physics 1 & 2 lectures and laboratory instruction. As such, applicants must demonstrate commitment to teaching within the freshman and sophomore year. Candidates are expected to assist in the broader educational mission of the university.
The appointment is projected to begin on January 5, 2026, and conclude on May 8, 2026, with the possibility of an extension for an additional semester. This is a full-time OPS position, offering eligibility for health benefits. Visa sponsorship is not offered for this position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:
- Ph.D. in Physics, or a closely related field, where the degree must be complete before a candidate’s starting date.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior teaching and relevant research or industry experience.
- Participation in professional activities and organizations.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with broad campus community.
COMPENSATION: Commensurate with experience and qualifications
