Job Details
The Department of Biology in the Gupta College of Science at Coastal Carolina University invites applications for one visiting lecturer beginning Fall 2026. This is a 9-month position, and may be considered for renewal for an additional term based on institutional needs.
Successful candidates must be able to teach a combination of in-person human anatomy and physiology lectures, labs, and introductory biology lectures, as needed. Candidates should have a graduate degree in the relevant discipline and must have a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in the related discipline. Applicants with university level experience teaching human anatomy and physiology and introductory biology are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities include teaching five (5) classes/labs each semester and participating in departmental activities.

Required Qualifications
Must have completed 18 graduate hours in the relevant discipline, hold a master’s degree or meet the established alternative qualifications, and exhibit strong potential for excellence in teaching. Maintain currency in academic discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
Post-doctoral experience is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Current knowledge and mastery of demonstrable skills in area of expertise with ability and willingness to effectively communicate them to students and colleagues is required.

Job Duties
- Teaches students in the classroom and/or laboratory.
- Prepares content, syllabi, and University Moodle/curricular site for each course and/or lab assigned each semester. Communicates to students after reviewing assignments. Calculates and assigns grades (e.g., mid-term and final) through established procedures listed in the Faculty Manual and University Catalog. Tracks and reports absences as directed by the Office of the Registrar.
- Posts and holds regular office hours each week per College and University guidelines. Engages in University-related activities including committee assignments, meetings and scholarly pursuits as prescribed in the Faculty Manual. Serves as an academic advisor for students as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
