Visiting Researcher
Position Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Visiting Researcher within the Cancer Pharmacology Department at the Rutgers Cancer Institute.
Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the Visiting Researcher will support the senior lab staff with conducting research experiments in the area of Cancer Pharmacology. Within the Herranz Lab, the Visiting Researcher will conduct research on the dissection of the interplay between metabolism and epigenetics in T-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (T-ALL) and additional leukemias using mouse models. The Visiting Researcher will also draft written reports for inclusion in manuscripts and grant proposals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Conducts multidisciplinary research on the dissection of the interplay between metabolism and epigenetics in Tcell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (T-ALL) and additional leukemias using mouse models, under the supervision of the Principal Investigator.
- Prepares written reports of the research experiments.
- Prepares grant proposals based on the research conducted.
- Gives oral presentations of the research.
- Understands and adheres to Rutgers' compliance standards as they appear in RBHS's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy. Understands, demonstrates and models the Rutgers Cancer Institute core values.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences or a related field is required.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Standing, sitting, walking, talking, and hearing.
No special vision requirements.
Lifting up to 25 lbs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Laboratory environment. Moderate noise.
Exposure to blood, excrement, antineoplastic drugs, and possible exposure to infectious and communicable diseases. Universal precautions are mandatory.
Exposure to hazardous chemicals.
Special Conditions
This will be a 6 month appointment.
