Welding Instructor
Under the general direction of a dean, an Instructor provides comprehensive classroom instruction to students from diverse backgrounds for the purpose of facilitating the attainment of their academic or vocational objectives.
There is currently one full time, tenure-track position at Ventura College that will begin during the Fall 2026 semester.
Candidates must be proficient in SMAW, GTAW, FCAW, and GMAW. The preferred candidate will possess the American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) credential or ability to obtain CWI within 12 months of employment from date of hire which must be maintained throughout course of employment.
The position will require extended periods of presenting material in a classroom and lab setting and frequent periods of movement from one area to another. Requires use of a computer, welding equipment; frequent exertion of 10-20 pounds of force to move objects; and communicating and providing information to others.
The position may require teaching dual enrollment courses at partner educational institutions such as high schools and possibly adult school partners in Ventura County.
