Salary: $5,008 - $10,325 Monthly
Position Description: Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Federal and States programs, the program specialist is responsible for administration of program(s) such as, but not limited to, Work-Study, Dream Service Incentive Grant, Learning Aligned Employment Program, Pell Grant, Cal Grant, Middle Class Scholarship, Chafee Grant, and Golden State Teacher Grant.
Main functions include reconciliation of Work-Study program activities (payroll expense reports, campus general ledgers and Financial Aid Management System); assisting campus partners with reconciliation of their work-study students; analyze and resolve data inconsistencies between institutional and federal or state systems, including but not limited to the daily processing of edit and reject reports; resolve data differences that show up on monthly reconciliation information provided by the Fiscal Management unit.
The incumbent shall be the point of contact for program-related inquiries from staff, students and parents. Verify that awards are packaged and processed according to federal eligibility requirements and FAS packaging policy. Remain current with regulatory changes and packaging policy. Assist with the preparation of the Education Department's campus-based aid Fiscal Operations Report and Application to Participate (FISAP). Coordinate all of the above with various University and external entities (campus departments, Extramural Fund Management, General Accounting, Payroll Services, Office of the President, and the Department of Education).
