Overview of the role:
We are seeking a Workshop and Maintenance Supervisor to join the Facilities Team at DPAG. You will supervise workshop operations and building maintenance, managing a small technical team and supporting a multidisciplinary research and teaching department. This is a full-time, permanent role, with flexible working arrangements considered.
Key responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the day-to-day work of the workshop and maintenance team, allocating and prioritising routine and reactive tasks.
- Undertake and oversee building maintenance and repairs, ensuring work is completed to a high standard and in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Programme, set up and operate CNC and manual workshop machinery to produce high-precision bespoke components for teaching and research.
- Act as the main point of contact for fabrication requests, providing technical advice and coordinating work with staff and students.
Selection criteria:
- Relevant mechanical or production engineering qualification or equivalent experience.
- Extensive experience in high-precision machining, including manual and CNC operation.
- Experience supervising staff, with strong communication, organisation and time-management skills.
