Stipend Rate $40,000 per annum for 3 years
About the Role
This PhD Scholarship offers an exciting opportunity to undertake a three-year doctoral program within the nationally funded Train the Trainer – Spinal Cord Injury (T3 SCI) initiative, based at Swinburne University of Technology’s Hawthorn campus. The successful candidate will contribute to a Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF)–funded program focused on improving access to safe, inclusive and evidence based physical activity for people with spinal cord injury by upskilling exercise and health professionals.
The role involves designing and delivering a research project spanning health professional education, co design, implementation science, program evaluation and knowledge translation across community and clinical settings. Working closely with academic supervisors, consumers and industry stakeholders, this position is ideal for a motivated and well organised emerging researcher keen to make meaningful impact through applied, collaborative research.
About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
- Demonstrated ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and engage consumers/clinicians/community centres.
- Excellent written and verbal skills, with evidence of involvement in research.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence interested parties.
- Experience working in higher education or a large, complex organisation.
- Demonstrated capacity for data-driven decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Occupational Therapy, Psychology or related fields.
- A valid working with children’s check card (or ability to obtain prior to or upon commencement).
- Successful candidates will need to be able to meet Swinburne's PhD entry requirements.
