The Yale School of Nursing (YSN) is internationally recognized for its pioneering contributions to nursing education, clinical innovation, and research that promotes health equity and population well-being. YSN’s graduate programs—including the Graduate Entry Pre-specialty in Nursing (GEPN), Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), and PhD in Nursing—prepare nurse leaders who are grounded in evidence-based practice, person-centered care, and interprofessional collaboration.
YSN faculty are engaged in leading-edge scholarship across areas such as chronic disease self-management, geriatrics and palliative care, maternal and child health, sleep science, global health, and health systems transformation. As part of the broader Yale University academic ecosystem, our faculty maintain robust collaborations with colleagues at the Schools of Medicine and Public Health, the Yale Cancer Center, Yale New Haven Health System, the Veterans Health Administration, and a wide range of community partners.
The Yale School of Nursing invites applications for a full-time Lecturer faculty position with a focus on the Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) program. The selected candidate will contribute to both didactic and clinical education and may be considered for an academic leadership position in the Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner Specialty based on qualifications and experience.
This position offers a distinctive opportunity to contribute to a nationally renowned women’s health and midwifery programs and to shape the next generation of advanced practice nurses committed to reproductive and sexual health, excellence in clinical care, and innovation in education.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design, deliver, and evaluate innovative didactic and clinical instruction for WHNP and midwifery students.
- Supervise and mentor students in diverse clinical settings, fostering clinical competence and professional identity formation.
- Participate in academic administration, including curriculum development, student advising, admissions, and committee service.
- Collaborate with YSN faculty and external stakeholders to advance the quality and impact of the Women’s Health and Midwifery programs.
- Engage in local and national professional networks and represent YSN in women’s health and advanced practice nursing forums.
- Contribute to community partnerships and outreach initiatives aligned with program goals.
Qualifications
Required:
- National certification as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP).
- Active or eligible Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure in the state of Connecticut.
- Demonstrated excellence in clinical practice in women’s health.
- Commitment to the School’s mission of better health for all people, especially in clinical education and practice.
Preferred:
- A terminal degree (DNP, PhD, or equivalent) in nursing or a related health discipline.
- Previous academic teaching experience in nursing education.
- Experience in academic leadership or clinical program coordination.
- Demonstrated ability to manage administrative responsibilities effectively.
