CSU SAT Scores

SAT Score Ranges for Admitted Students:

• Score Range: 880–1130 (combined Evidence-Based Reading and Writing, and Math)
• Average Score: Approximately 1000
• 75th Percentile: Around 1130, meaning 25% of admitted students score above this mark

Key Points:

• SAT or ACT scores are currently optional for most programs at Cleveland State University (CSU) due to test-optional policies; however, submitting scores can strengthen an application.
• CSU evaluates SAT scores as part of a holistic review process, with no strict minimum threshold, though competitive scores align with the admitted student range.
• Cleveland State University practices superscoring, combining the highest section scores from multiple SAT test dates to create the best possible composite score.
• Alternatives such as AP or IB test scores may be considered for placement or credit but do not replace SAT scores in admissions decisions.
• Applicants are encouraged to aim for an SAT score of at least 1000–1130 to be competitive for admission to Cleveland State University.
