Hang Yin is a professor and PhD supervisor in the School of Physics at Central China Normal University. A native of Linyi, Shandong Province, he earned his Bachelor's degree from Shandong Normal University in 2005 and his PhD from the University of Science and Technology of China in 2010. From 2010 to 2015, he performed postdoctoral research at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (Fermilab) in the United States, where he served as convener of the electroweak physics group in the D0 experiment, contributing to over 10 publications including the world's most precise measurement of the weak mixing angle sin²θ_W for light quark processes and precise W boson charge asymmetry measurements. Selected for China's National High-Level Talent Youth Project in 2015, he joined Central China Normal University full-time, focusing on the LHCb experiment at CERN, and was promoted to full professor in 2017. He currently holds the position of convener for the QEE (QCD, Electroweak, and Exotica) physics group in the LHCb collaboration from 2023 to 2025.
Professor Yin's research centers on experimental high-energy physics, with emphasis on precision electroweak measurements, CP violation in heavy flavor physics involving bottom mesons, and searches for double heavy baryons within the LHCb experiment. Notable achievements include major contributions to the 2017 discovery of double charm baryons, selected as one of China's top 10 scientific advances; the world's most precise measurement of the B_s meson mixing angle; high-precision Z boson mass determination published in Physical Review Letters as Editor's Suggestion; and recent results on B meson CP violation and W boson mass commentary in Nature. He has co-authored over 400 papers in leading journals, including 5 first-author papers in Physical Review Letters and 2 in Physical Review D, with contributions featured nearly 10 times in Fermilab Today and in CERN Courier. Yin teaches undergraduate electromagnetism and graduate courses on particle physics introduction and experimental data analysis methods. He leads national grants, including a 2022 key R&D project from the Ministry of Science and Technology, and has given over 10 plenary or invited talks at international conferences.
