Professor Kola Olagboyega is the most academically accomplished professor that I have ever learned from. I am a current postgraduate student of Professor Olagboyega, having been a university teacher myself for a long time. I learn on a weekly basis from Prof. Olagboyega and I am very happy that he is my professor.
Kolawole Waziri Olagboyega is a Professor in the Faculty of Literature, Department of English Literature at Tsuru University. He holds a PhD in English and Applied Linguistics awarded in 2000 by the University of Sheffield, an MPhil in English and Applied Linguistics awarded in 1994 by the University of Cambridge, and a PGCE in Post-Compulsory Education and Training awarded in 2003 by the University of Greenwich. His professional specialty is English and Applied Linguistics.
Professor Olagboyega’s research focuses on World Englishes and Collaborative Online International Learning. His work examines the varieties of English found across different countries, including differences in pronunciation, vowel systems, and grammatical structures. In his seminars, students explore topics related to these areas and second language acquisition, while developing academic writing skills through exercises, group work, and the completion of a 5,000-word thesis in English. He contributes to the university’s educational programs in these fields through teaching and research activities.
