Nerida Downes holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Otago. Her professional background includes work in the field of Chemistry at the University of Otago from February 1990 to June 1994 and in Pharmacy from February 2003 to October 2020. She currently serves as Pharmaceutical Science Technician in the School of Pharmacy, Project Manager for the Antarctic Science Platform Project in the Department of Marine Science, and Analyst in Patrick Silcock's Lab at the University of Otago. She is affiliated with the Product Development Research Centre and the Sir John Walsh Research Institute in the Faculty of Dentistry, Health Sciences Division.
