Position Overview

Primary Purpose of the Position: The Department of Exercise Physiology seeks applicants to teach undergraduate courses in the School of Health Sciences for the 2025-2026 academic year.

Position required to work during periods of adverse weather or other emergencies: No

Minimum Experience/Education: Master’s degree in exercise physiology, exercise science, kinesiology, health education, nutrition or health-related discipline and two years of related teaching or experience at the university level; or equivalent combination of teaching, training and experience.

Department Required Skills: This position requires a clear communicator; able to show confidence teaching and presenting to an undergraduate class. Must be technologically savvy with the ability to utilize email, e-learning and different online learning systems and other ways to communicate with students

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

Describe the specific job duties related to this competency: Responsibilities include teaching undergraduates; developing and managing the class syllabus and ensuring that the syllabus meets department and university standards; planning and creating lectures, in-class discussions and assignments; grading assigned papers, quizzes and exams; assessing grades for students based on participation, performance in class, assignments and examinations; collaborating with colleagues on course curriculum; and advising students on how to be successful in class.
