About the Opportunity: Kalamazoo Valley is seeking a full-time Academic Development and Instructional Technology Analyst as part of the college’s Faculty Success Center. This position supports faculty development and instructional technology initiatives. This position plays a critical role in advancing effective teaching practices, supporting faculty in instructional technology, and fostering student success through innovative resources and training.
Specific Responsibilities of this Position Include:
- Lead support and administration of the College’s Learning Management System (LMS). Troubleshoot issues, maintain system functionality, and offer guidance to faculty.
- Design and deliver hands-on training and workshops for faculty on educational technologies, including lecture capture, web conferencing, and accessibility tools.
- Evaluate and recommend new instructional technologies that promote teaching effectiveness, accessibility (ADA), and Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
- Develop clear, user-friendly guides, tutorials, and documentation to support independent learning and adoption.
- Collaborate across departments to inform policy, security, and strategy related to instructional technology and faculty development.
Minimum Qualifications: Appropriate education, training, experience, and talents are required. An example of this would be: Bachelor’s degree in instructional technology, education, computer science, or a related field. At least 3 years of professional experience in instructional design, academic technology support, or a similar role. Also required: Knowledge of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and accessibility best practices. Knowledge in administration of learning management systems (e.g., Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard). Knowledge of Online and blended course design. Skill in designing and facilitating technology training sessions. Skill in creating training materials. Skill in providing high-level customer service.
Work Hours: 40 hours per week; Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
