Position Summary
The UCLA Samueli School of Engineering (SEAS) is seeking a resourceful, organized, and service-oriented individual to serve as our Academic HR Analyst II. This position provides support to the School's academic personnel processes for our seven academic departments and associated Institutes. Under the direction of the Samueli Engineering Academic HR Supervisor II, the Academic HR Analyst II is responsible for providing employment, academic personnel service and human resources to Ladder Faculty, Adjuncts, Unit 18 lecturers, and Visiting Professors in the Samueli School of Engineering. Incumbent uses appropriate processes to accomplish personnel actions including appointments, merits, promotions, renewals and completing tasks for the various UCLA systems, including but not limited to: OPUS, Interfolio, Faculty 180, L&S Dossier, OATS, UC Recruit, and UC Path. Incumbent also serves as a liaison with the benefits office for these employees, serves as preparer, reviewer and back up for both departmental-level and school-level systems. This is a highly visible position that requires sensitivity, knowledge of University academic personnel policies and procedures, University payroll systems, and organizational skills.
Salary & Compensation

Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Qualifications
- 2 Years Professional experience in academic personnel, human resources, administration, or payroll, preferably within a higher education or public sector environment. (Preferred)
- 1. Clear and effective communication skills, both oral and written, to convey accurate and timely information across all levels of the organization. (Required)
- 2. Demonstrated discretion, tact, and sensitivity in handling confidential and sensitive personnel information. (Required)
- 3. Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships in a diverse academic environment. (Required)
- 4. Ability to remain professional, composed, and effective in the face of resistance, indifference, or competing demands. (Required)
- 5. Proven ability to work independently, prioritize multiple assignments, and meet deadlines under shifting workloads and interruptions. (Required)
- 6. Analytical skills to assess complex information, identify issues, and implement effective solutions. (Required)
- 7. Strong organizational and project management skills with consistent attention to detail and accuracy. (Required)
- 8. Knowledge of personnel policies, procedures, and practices in a higher education setting, including payroll and benefits administration. (Required)
- 9. Ability to interpret and apply University policies, academic personnel procedures, collective bargaining agreements, and employment regulations. (Required)
- 10. Proficiency with computer applications and Academic HR/payroll systems, including Microsoft Office Suite, databases, and online personnel platforms. (Required)
- 11. Skill in composing, editing, proofreading, and correcting reports, correspondence, and official documents with proper grammar and style. (Required)
- 12. Commitment to professionalism, reliability, and adherence to departmental standards and expectations. (Required)
Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations
- Bachelor's Degree In related area and/or equivalent combination of education and experience/training (Required)
