Work Life Specialist, Employee Assistance Program
Job Description
What will I be doing in this role?
The Work/Life Specialist provides clinical expertise in a setting designed to help employees, trainees and physicians address personal and/or work-related problems that may be adversely affecting their work or personal lives.
*This position involves a hybrid model with an expectation of three days per week onsite. Occasional evening or night work may be required to accommodate departmental needs*
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conducts confidential clinical assessments, short-term interventions and referrals to employees needing urgent same day/crisis appointments.
- Facilitates regular Wellbeing Groups to support organizational goals related to wellbeing.
- Provides/creates departmental and management in-services, educational programs, orientations and training.
- Creates and maintains links to resources including partnerships with Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and family care resources.
- Supports organization through Critical Incident Stress Debriefings for employee wellbeing.
- Facilitates and provides support to leaders and employees throughout the process of each case type.
- Collaborates and consults with leadership, Human Resources and Employee Health Services and other key partners.
- Makes recommendations on course of action for fitness for duty, threat assessment, domestic violence & substance abuse cases.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Behavioral Sciences, Social Work, Marriage and Family or a related field.
- Requires one of the following licenses issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences: Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Counselor, or Licensed Educational Psychologists.
- Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP) or CEAP eligible is preferred.
- Five (5) years of experience in an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) or similar related field: management consultation, employee assessment, referral and follow-up and training presentations.
- One (1) year of experience with evidence-based models for critical incident stress management debriefing is preferred.
