About the Program:
The Martin V. Smith School of Business & Economics at CSU Channel Islands actively promotes the Mission of CSU Channel Islands (CI) by building and supporting a learning community of faculty and students who pursue excellence in all areas of business and economics education and scholarship. Faculty members in the Martin V. Smith School of Business & Economics follow a teacher/scholar model in accordance with AACSB standards.
About the Position:
The MVS School of Business and Economics seeks a pool of qualified applicants for possible temporary, part-time teaching of accounting classes. These positions are filled on an as-needed basis and recruitment is ongoing. Assignments include in-person and synchronous online courses, during the day and evening.
Minimum Degree Requirements:
MS in accountancy with active professional and industry experience or a PhD in Accountancy.
Required Qualifications:
- The minimum degree requirements.
- Applicants should demonstrate the commitment to effectively work with and engage a diverse student population and evidence of how they would successfully mentor minoritized students with special focus on Latinx, Black/African American, American Indian, and Asian/Asian American/Pacific Islander students.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Teaching experience in accounting.
- PhD in accountancy.
- 5+ years full-time work in accounting.
Responsibilities:
Teach one or more classes as assigned and as student demand requires. Conduct and turn in assessment activities as outlined each semester.

Screening of applications will begin August 5, 2025. Priority will be given to applicants who submit applications prior to the screening deadline; however, the position will remain open until filled.

- A teaching philosophy describing how you plan to engage and interact with students, with a special focus on Latinx, Black/African American, Asian/Asian American/Pacific Islander, and American Indian students.

Compensation:
California State University Lecturer Salary (Academic Year) Schedules (anticipated hiring ranges):
Placement into a range is based on qualifications and experience. Initial assignments are typically at the bottom third of the salary range. The full-time (15 units per semester) monthly base salaries indicated in the schedules above are prorated to the number of units worked and are paid in six monthly payments for each full semester.
