Job Description
This position is responsible for processing purchase requisitions and executing purchasing orders in support of Old Dominion University’s Research Foundation’s research and administrative activities. The position involves scheduling work to ensure timely procurement, maintaining accurate records for both vendors and departments, and facilitating clear communication with customers.
Knowledge, skills and abilities
• Considerable knowledge of procurement principles, laws, regulations, and purchasing techniques.
• Working knowledge to use Microsoft Office effectively, including Word and Excel, to complete daily tasks independently.
• Working knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate information and use individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.
• Demonstrated ability to gather and evaluate relevant information from various sources to support typical job functions.
