  • Maintaining effective communication within the College and the department or program.

Salary is determined per the SF Salary Schedule.

Under general supervision, the Adjunct Assistant Professor, Magnetic Resonance Imaging will develop, prepare and teach Magnetic Resonance Imaging coursework. Faculty may be assigned to SF's main Northwest campus or at any of the program's clinical affiliate locations. Additionally, course offerings may be taught during the day, evening, or online. Candidates must have the flexibility to teach assigned time and format at any site throughout the academic year. Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to reach a diverse student population, flexibility, willingness to work with others, and an interest in the integration of classroom and clinical experience. The candidate's primary function will be to teach didactic, laboratory, and clinical courses in Magnetic Resonance Imaging.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Plan, organize, and deliver instruction in didactic, laboratory and/or online settings to promote student success within a community college setting and align with the ARRT curriculum guidelines.
  • Support and promote the college and departmental missions centered on excellence in teaching and learning through quality instruction, curriculum enhancement, and service.
  • Collaborate with department chair, faculty, and peers to evaluate, revise, and develop curriculum to cultivate the mastery of course content.
  • Strictly honor the privacy and security of student records and other sensitive information according to appropriate state, federal and college regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Provide students with frequent, timely assessment of and clear feedback regarding academic performance.
  • Appropriately document student progress and maintain records including attendance, grading and student learning outcomes.
  • Maintain appropriate office hours proportionate to the instructional assignment.
  • Assist the Program Director with preparing reports for internal and external audiences.
  • Coordinate, implement and evaluate the clinical education component of the curriculum; (i.e. initiate and maintain clinical affiliate contracts, student clinical rotation placement, clinical affiliate visits and evaluations); ensure effective program operation and compliance with ARRT, SACS, or other regulatory agency requirements.
  • Comply with College and Departmental guidelines regarding professional development.
  • Correlates clinical education with didactic education and evaluates student performance and learning.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the discipline and educational methodologies through continuing professional development.
  • Participate in student recruitment and advisement.
  • Develop methods that fairly and accurately assess students' progress in achieving the stated learning outcomes/objectives.
  • Assist with implementation of college policies, procedures, and practices in accordance with SF college philosophy, values, and mission.
  • Provide service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible and professional engagement.
  • Work a flexible schedule at multiple worksites.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Reports to: Chair, Allied Health Programs

Qualifications

Required: An Associate degree in medical imaging, current industry credential from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) RT(MR), and a minimum of 2 years clinical experience as a MRI Technologist. A criminal background check will be conducted.

Preferred: Candidates with teaching experience in an ARRT or regionally accredited educational program in Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technology.

General Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

The Adjunct Assistant must have the ability to deliver a high level of interactive customer service, develop and maintain collaborative relationships throughout the organization, communicate effectively and possess proficient computer skills, including familiarity with the Microsoft Suite of Office Applications. The successful applicant must be willing to work a flexible schedule at multiple sites, as well as demonstrate the ability to work well with students, faculty and staff at all levels within a diverse, multi-cultural, collaborative environment.
