ADJUNCT - FY26 BASIC SKILLS INSTRUCTOR, CITIZENSHIP NON-CREDIT

The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) is accepting applications for Noncredit Citizenship & Civics Instructor positions for the 2026 Academic School Year.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline, and six semester units in American history and institutions.
- Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college faculty, staff, and students.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT COVID 19 VACCINATION: Pursuant to LACCD Board of Trustee's Policy 2900, all students and employees must be fully vaccinated or have an approved exemption.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with preparing vulnerable populations for the Naturalization process which includes an exam and interview.
- Experience with curriculum design, delivery, and assessment, particularly within the context of navigating civic systems.
- Familiarity with the Comprehensive Adult Students Assessment System (CASAS) Testing.
- Bilingual Certificate - California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
- Possession of a California Designated Subjects Adult Education Teaching Credential authorizing instruction in the subject matter.
DUTIES: The adjunct instructor should be prepared to teach a range of Noncredit Citizenship & Civics related courses and promote engaging and inclusive educational environments that support student learning. Faculty may be required to conduct classes in a virtual learning environment using Canvas, hybrid, or hyflex modalities to support remote learning.
COMPENSATION: The salary schedule for adjunct noncredit instructors begins at $79.20 per standard hour.
