Job Description:

Course utilizes an interdisciplinary approach that combines technical knowledge with legal frameworks, public policy analysis, and ethical reasoning. A constantly evolving cybersecurity world creates ethical challenges for individuals regardless of whether they are employed in the information technology field or more traditional occupations. Course provides students with an understanding and working knowledge of the ethical standards governing information technology as well as valuable legal perspectives involving data privacy and compliance, policies, and regulations. Course will serve as the final requirement for the successful completion of the undergraduate cybersecurity minor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

CONTRACT TYPE: Semester based.

  • Teach undergraduate-level cybersecurity courses.
  • Qualified applicants must be committed to student learning, integrating technology into the curriculum, and encouraging engaged scholars.
  • Teach assigned classes in keeping with approved syllabi, outlines, and instructional materials.
  • Provide counsel/guidance to students when there is a need.

Requirements:

Required:

  • A Juris Doctorate (JD) degree is required.
  • Prior experience in teaching, training, or mentoring individuals in cybersecurity-related topics is a strong asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey cybersecurity concepts. Ability to explain technical information involving cybersecurity law, policy, and ethics in a clear and concise manner.
  • Experience working in the field of cybersecurity, preferably with a strong understanding and working knowledge of industry standards, frameworks, and best practices.

Preferred:

  • A master's degree in a relevant field (such as cybersecurity, information technology, or computer science) is highly desirable.
