Adjunct, Environmental Science
The Environmental Science Department at Barnard College seeks a part-time instructor to teach the following undergraduate courses during the 2025-2026 academic year.
Courses: EESC BC3800 Environmental Science Senior Seminar I (Fall) and EESC BC3801 Environmental Science Senior Seminar II (Spring)
Responsibilities include co-teaching the Senior Thesis course, EESC BC3800. Instructors will advise students as they develop their thesis research, including writing in class and follow-up work. They will work closely with a team of instructors on course roll-out, monitor student progress, and take turns with presentations, grading, research, writing the thesis, and poster sessions with opportunities for feedback. Teaching obligation is for both Fall and Spring. Please see the course website for detailed information.
Required Qualifications: PhD required. Must be available on Thursday afternoons before or after class to meet with students and free to set up faculty meetings.
Preferred Qualifications: Excellent writing and communication skills, ability to collaborate with others, and experience in environmental research is a plus.
Pay Rate: $13,250 per semester.
