Adjunct Faculty: Environmental Studies

The Division of STEM & Business invites applications for the position of Adjunct Faculty in Environmental Studies.

Dates: September 2025 - December 2025

  • EVS102: Introduction to Sustainable Living Tuesdays 11:00-12:25 Lynn Campus
  • EVS 114: Environmental Policy, 8:00 AM - 09:25 AM, TR Danvers Campus

Essential Functions: Teach courses as assigned by the Division Dean. Prepare course syllabi, proctor and grade course assessments as scheduled, report final student grades, and complete student alerts by the specified dates each semester. Develop and apply assessment strategies that maximize the learning process and measure student learning outcomes. Embrace the ideals of diversity and inclusiveness and support the equal rights of all people by advancing the understanding and appreciation of differences including age, race, gender, ability, religious convictions, socio-economic status, ethnic heritage, or sexual orientation. Perform other duties as assigned consistent with the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.

Job Requirements: A Bachelors' degree in Environmental Science or Environmental Studies, or a related field, is required. Recent work experience related to the course content or graduate-level study of Environmental Studies or Environmental Science is required. Familiarity and commitment to critical theoretical frameworks in teaching (e.g., Environmental Justice, Environmental Racism, Gender and Women's studies) is strongly preferred. Successful experience interacting with culturally diverse populations. Candidates will be required to pass a CORI/SORI and/or a national background check as a condition of employment.

Preferred Qualifications: A Master's degree or higher in Environmental Studies, Environmental Science, or a related science is strongly preferred. Teaching experience in higher education and/or at the community college level is strongly preferred. Knowledge of environmental law/policy is strongly preferred. A commitment to and experience working with a diverse student body is required; knowledge of local students' needs is recommended.
