Position Title: Adjunct Faculty, Film Studies

School/Division: School of Communication

Full Time/Part Time: Part-Time

Description:

The Lawrence Herbert School of Communication is pleased to invite applications for an Adjunct Assistant/Associate Professor of Film Studies in the Department of Radio, Television, Film at Hofstra University.

The candidate would teach undergraduate-level courses on a semester-by-semester basis, in the following possible areas:

  • Introduction to Film Studies (focusing on critical analysis)
  • Film History
  • Film Genres
  • Film Authorship

The candidate should have an expansive view of each of these canons, including a practice of DEI.

Qualifications:

  • Have completed a Master's degree in Film Studies with teaching experience or PhD/ABD in Film Studies.
  • A successful candidate will have demonstrated a commitment to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion in an educational environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD in Film Studies.
  • Record of scholarly publications.
