POSITION SUMMARY: Adjunct Faculty member responsible for teaching one class in Ceramics, beginning Spring 2026 semester.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Adjunct opening for Ceramics beginning Spring 2026 at Moravian University. The course is offered in-person on Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30-9:00 pm.
- Candidates should demonstrate an ongoing engagement with historic processes and their intersection with contemporary approaches to the ceramic medium.
- The basics of operating a ceramics classroom are included in the role: loading, unloading, firing, and maintaining electric kilns, including low-fire and high-fire; purchasing clay, glazes, and other supplies; and required health and safety training within the first two weeks of the semester.

Course description:
ART 160. Ceramics. This course introduces the fundamentals of ceramic art—including hand-built and wheel techniques—applied to tiles, objects, and vessels, and methods of glazing. The history and use of ceramics will be discussed.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least three years of teaching experience is required.
- BFA in Ceramics or related media required, and preference will be given to candidates with an MFA in Ceramics or related media.
