Adjunct Faculty, Funeral Services

SALARY: Adjunct salaries are dependent upon the number of credit hours. Minimum salary is $1,397 per credit hour. Actual salary is commensurate with the DCE Collective Bargaining Agreement. This is a non-benefited, MCCC position.

The Department of Funeral Service Education is seeking a qualified Adjunct Faculty member for the Spring 2026. The instructor will deliver high-quality instruction aligned with program outcomes, accreditation standards, and current professional practices in funeral service.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Teach one or more sections of Funeral Service courses.
2. Prepare course syllabi that meet all contractual requirements.
3. Available to teach courses on Tuesdays, in person on the Danvers, MA campus. This is not a remote position.
4. Use appropriate assessment tools to accurately measure student understanding of class subject matter.
5. Monitor email communications from students and the college, and respond in a timely manner.
6. Contact dean or advising staff as necessary regarding student issues
7. Meet all deadlines for submission of grades, student participation reports, student grievance responses and other administrative documentation

Job Requirements:

• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree, Master's degree preferred.
• Graduate of an ABFSE accredited program.
• A current, active license with Massachusetts Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers.
• A minimum of five years of current practice experience in the field of funeral service, including embalming and RA experience.
• Prior teaching or training experience preferred.
• Experience teaching online/hybrid and/or embedding the use of technology into curriculum, preferred.
• Candidates will be required to pass a CORI/SORI and/or a National background check as a condition of employment
