Job Description:
The Bellarmine University Economics program seeks a part-time adjunct faculty member, who will teach Law & Economics. The class is currently scheduled to be offered in person from 6:00 to 7:15 on Monday and Wednesday in the fall 2026 semester. However, this can be adjusted if a candidate is identified early enough. The course description is as follows: "Economic analysis is used to evaluate laws and legal institutions. It provides a scientific analysis of how legal constraints shape household and firm behavior. This course examines the importance of economics in the development of laws, and in analyzing the effect of laws on the efficient allocation of resources. Depending upon the semester, the course may examine a broad variety of topics or focus on an in-depth analysis of a few timely issues." The successful candidate will perform tasks designed to ensure the quality and consistency of academic instruction.
Job Requirements:
- A minimum M.S. or M.A. in economics or related field (with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in economics).
- A JD with a background in economics is also sufficient.
- Applicants must exhibit a strong commitment to excellence in teaching undergraduate Economics courses.
Additional Information:
The teaching load will be three credit hours in the fall semester of 2026 but there is a possibility to renew in the future. Contracts are issued on a semester by semester basis. Candidates should embody the University's commitment to student success, and inclusive excellence.
