Starting Salary Range: AJCR $1,208-$1,344 per credit hour and in accordance with the adjunct table and determined based on relevant years of work experience provided on application and resume.
Position Summary:
JCCC is looking for a qualified pool of applicants for a part-time political science faculty position who will begin teaching Spring 2027 (with potential for earlier). The ideal candidate is expected to teach American National Government and Introduction to Political Science and some combination of the following: Comparative Government, Political Theory, and other courses as needed. Course descriptions can be found in JCCC's course catalog. In addition to teaching, the individual hired is expected to perform other duties as assigned. Teaching assignments are subject to change, and could be any combination of face-to-face (day or evening) and online. All applications must be submitted via the JCCC jobs portal.

(2) Specifically discuss if you can teach face-to-face (on campus) during the workday/evening, online, or all of the above.
(3) Describe your experience teaching political science at the collegiate level.
JCCC educates a large, varied student body. Many of our 18,000 students are non-traditional, military veterans, immigrants, international, and first-generation college students.
Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree in political science OR a Master's degree in a different field and 18 graduate credit hours in political science.
- Ability to teach American National Government and Introduction to Political Science.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Political Science.
- Ability to teach other JCCC political science courses.
- Ability to teach classes face-to-face during the day or evening.
- Demonstrated expertise in political science.
- Demonstrated knowledge of academic culture.
- Documented successful teaching at the college level.
- Professional political science experience, either elected or employed.
