Walla Walla Community College seeks to develop applicant pools for adjunct faculty to teach course offerings throughout the 2025-2026 academic year. WWCC offers opportunities for adjunct faculty to teach courses at all of our campuses: Walla Walla, Clarkston, Washington State Penitentiary, Coyote Ridge Corrections Center, as well as online/remotely. Part-time/temporary adjunct faculty positions offer flexible hours and the opportunity to assist a diverse group of adult students in achieving their educational goals. WWCC offers a wide range of opportunities in extended learning, dual-credit alternative high school, workplace learning, outreach learning, and personal enrichment programs.

Description: Walla Walla Community College is accepting applications for a part-time CAP/GED/HSC Instructor to be part of a pool of professionals we can reach out to for teaching in Career and Academic Prep (CAP)/High School Completion (HSC) and General Education Development (GED) subject areas on the Walla Walla Campus.

General Responsibilities: Faculty members at WWCC are professional educators committed to providing students with access to relevant, equitable, and innovative learning opportunities.

Essential Responsibilities: Teach assigned classes at the scheduled time and place; Demonstrate professional skills appropriate to the teaching assignment; Provide each student with a comprehensive syllabus at the beginning of the quarter; Provide clear explanations, assignments, and directions; Conduct appropriate and frequent evaluations of student performance and provide feedback; Assign and submit grades based on the results of evaluations and the college grading policy; Maintain student records and grades in the College's LMS; Post and be available a minimum of one office hour each week; Maintain course outlines and syllabi to reflect program curriculum; Review and recommend program textbooks, materials, and technology; Utilize available technology appropriate to the assignment.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Adult Education, Secondary Education, or closely related credentialing may be substituted at the discretion of the college; Demonstrated proficiency teaching at the pre-college-level or Secondary level (two years minimum); Demonstrated commitment to promote equitable access and educational achievement of diverse students.

Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in Adult Education, Education, or a closely related field; Knowledge of Career and College Readiness Standards for Adult Education; Demonstrated knowledge of instructional best practices in a diverse, multi-level classroom setting; Experience teaching at a community college or secondary level; Experience using instructional technology to support student learning; Experience teaching in a variety of modalities; Experience working with and relating to persons from varied cultural, ethnic, gender, age, socioeconomic, and educational backgrounds.
