Description
The School of Physician Assistant Studies seeks an adjunct faculty member to deliver high quality learning experiences and education for students in the Master of Physician Assistant Studies. The selected candidate will have responsibilities teaching the Introduction to Psychiatry course to graduate students. This course is offered in person, on the Boston campus, in the fall semester. Subject matters will include mood disorders, personality disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders as well as other psychiatric conditions and their treatments.
- Deliver didactic instruction in-person in the School of Physician Assistant Studies
- Provide students with an approved syllabus that includes course objectives and learning outcomes, teaching methodology, attendance policies in line with those of the School, texts and readings, assignments and deliverables, timelines and evaluation criteria.
- Provide engaging assignments that demonstrate the real-world applications of concepts covered.
- Uses the University's learning management system to post syllabus, assignments and other materials and to communicate with students
- Advises and assists students through office hours or scheduled appointments, by videoconference, phone or email, and through other University-approved mechanisms
- Provides service including student mentoring, ongoing course development, and assessment
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor
Requirements
Required:
- Masters degree or higher in related field (PA, NP, CNS, MD, DO)
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience in clinical psychiatry
- Teaching experience at the college/university level preferred
- Commitment to graduate professional education and student success
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Must be able to work independently and effectively interact with a wide array of parties at all levels (students, faculty, administration/staff, alumni, and external constituents, including healthcare industry professionals)
Compensation
The pay range associated with this posting reflects the amount the University reasonably expects to pay for this role at this time. Salary offers are determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications as well as internal equity, market data and pay in comparison to similarly situated employees doing comparable work.
Hiring Range: $4000
