The School of Medical Imaging and Therapeutics seeks an adjunct faculty member to deliver high quality learning experiences and education for students in the BS completion in Respiratory Therapy. The selected candidate will have responsibilities developing an online course in Advanced Pediatric Respiratory Care for undergraduate students. Subject matters may include pediatric respiratory care.

• Develop didactic online course in Blackboard in advanced pediatric respiratory care as an elective for the BS completion program in respiratory therapy.
• Develop an approved syllabus that includes course objectives and learning outcomes, teaching methodology, attendance policies in line with those of the schools, texts and readings, assignments and deliverables, timelines and evaluation criteria.
• Provides engaging assignments that demonstrate the real-world applications of concepts covered.
• Supports incorporation of diversity, equity and inclusion into the curriculum, as well as co-curricular experiences, to broaden the education of students and expand their knowledge of health disparities.
• Uses the University's learning management system to develop the course - post syllabus, assignments and other materials and to communicate with students
• Coordinate course development with the Program Director
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor

Requirements

Required:

• Active RRT certification
• Masters degree minimum
• Minimum of 5 years of work experience as a respiratory therapist
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical and classroom teaching experience along with knowledge and experience with the Blackboard learning management system
• Commitment to undergraduate, graduate and/or professional education and student success
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Must be able to work independently and effectively interact with a wide array of parties at all levels (students, faculty, administration/staff, alumni, and external constituents, including healthcare industry professionals)
