"Adjunct Faculty - Social Work (BSW)"

Position Purpose: Aurora University seeks talented adjunct faculty who are passionate about teaching and learning. Adjunct faculty are qualified part-time instructors offered teaching opportunities based on course demand and staffing.

Essential Job Functions: Aurora University is looking for adjunct faculty to work in the BSW program, with opportunities to teach across the BSW core curriculum. However, there is a particular need for instructors qualified to teach the courses listed below:

• Social Work with Groups
• Social Work with Individuals
• Human Behavior in the Social Environment I and II
• Social Work Research
• Social Work with Communities and Organizations

Teaching Responsibilities: AU faculty should be present and engaged in courses by doing the following:

• Facilitate courses in person at the Aurora campus.
• Meet weekly grading deadlines and maintain up-to-date grade books.
• Be responsive to student email messages and requests for assistance.
• Provide mentorship in the discipline and content expertise.
• Respond to all university and departmental requests, emails, messages, and correspondence.

Essential Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

• An MSW degree and a minimum of two years of professional experience are required.
• Weekday availability is required, as BSW courses are offered in a cohort structure on either M/W/F or T/Th.
• Experience teaching is strongly preferred.

Skills: The anticipated pay rate for this position is $1,100 per credit hour. This compensation is subject to change at the sole discretion of the university, based on institutional needs.
