Adjunct Instructor, Music (Jazz Improvisational)
- Teach courses in jazz improvisation and related music subjects as assigned.
- Develop and deliver lesson plans, lectures, demonstrations, and practice exercises that strengthen students' improvisational and musical skills.
- Provide instruction in jazz harmony, scales, chord progressions, and improvisational techniques.
- Evaluate and assess student progress through performances, assignments, and examinations.
- Encourage creativity and individual musical expression while maintaining strong technical foundations.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress.
- Utilize learning management systems (LMS) and instructional technology to support course delivery.
- Support departmental concerts, performances, rehearsals, and music program activities as appropriate.
- Adhere to institutional policies, academic standards, and departmental guidelines.
- Demonstrated proficiency in jazz performance and improvisation.
- Other related duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Music, Jazz Studies, Music Performance, Music Education, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in music or jazz studies.
- 1 - 3 years of teaching experience at the college or university level.
