Description of Position
The APECS (Astro, Physics, Engineering and Computer Science) Department at Contra Costa College is accepting applications for an Adjunct Faculty (part-time). This is a temporary assignment that begins in August 2026.
The teaching assignment will mainly include Introductory Programming (COMP-112), Python (COMP-110), and Object-Oriented Programming, as well as specialized coursework in Data Science.
The successful candidate will play a key role in helping to develop the Data Science program, ensuring the curriculum meets industry standards and provides clear transfer pathways for our students. We seek candidates who embrace our community, our student population, and our central work: strengthening West County by meeting our students where they are and helping them get to where they want to be.
We seek candidates who operate with a growth mindset, a strength-based approach centered on students, and a commitment to equity, especially concerning the elimination of barriers to college access, success, and completion. The ideal candidate will be eager to help construct and maintain a culture of continuous improvement in instructional effectiveness.
